Chinese spelling and Chinese character cards

Dear Parents,

Chinese Spelling

The children had received their spelling books today. Thanks to all parents in ensuring that their children are being supervised when preparing for spelling tests as well as their daily homework and revision. Your involvment in your child's learning years really make a difference. As it turned out, almost all did well!

Kindly sign on their spelling books and give them a high-Five for their effort put in. Please also remind them to return to Chen Laoshi the coming Monday. As a reference, the marks allocation is as follows (use Chinese easier to explain :) ) :

1)每题10分,总分100分。如果一题有两个音节(如:wu1 ya1),每个正确的音节得5分,而每个写错的音节则扣5分,比如说把wu1 ya1 写成 wa1 ya1, 一个音节写错了,就扣5分。

2)以每个音节来说,如把调号标错,就扣1分(如把第二声写成第三声,就扣一分)。

Chinese Character Cards

Most children were provided with a ziplock bag to pack the Chinese character cards that we went through today. I had requested that they keep these character cards at home for revision and only leave the empty ziplock bag in the bag. Kindly label your child's ziplock bag. Periodically, your child will bring back used character cards for you to revise with them. You could use these cards to play bingo or spelling quizes with your child.

Please email me at tan_siow_hwee@nyps.edu.sg if you require further clarification. Have a nice weekend!

Best regards, Mdm Tan
